Divjakë-Karavasta National Park is located in the Myzeqe Plain in western Albania, along the Adriatic Sea. The Karavasta Lagoon is the largest lagoon in Albania and is surrounded by a vast pine forest, rich with wildlife and numerous trails. The main wetland area consists of a shallow inner lagoon and a smaller outer lagoon to the northwest. The inner lagoon is filled with small, low islands that are ideal for the nesting of Dalmatian pelicans. The lagoon is separated from the Adriatic Sea by a large forested sandbar and a small beach resort.
